Tomorrow I have surgery to remove all the metal parts that have been holding my foot together. When it first happened I was nervous about having the metal in my foot. Now I'm nervous about having the metal taken away. When we are dealing with the unknown, no matter what it is we are fearful. Why is that? Possibly just because it's the unknown and we hate not knowing! But I have been told that my foot is healed and the metal is no longer needed. Shouldn't that be enough to remove my fears? Not really, because I haven't personally experienced it myself. There you have it in a nutshell. Until we personally experience something we really aren't sure if we believe it or not.
So how does one acquire "Faith"? Faith that the sun will come up tomorrow, that when we drive somewhere we will arrive safely, that eating eggs won't kill us! Then there is religious faith and all that comes with believing in a higher power, something outside of ourselves. What gives you "faith"? Have you ever asked yourself that question? Really asked and answered? Just because is not an answer, neither is I just know. Ask yourself "How does one acquire "faith"? How did you acquire your faith?
